Black & Sable German Shepherd Puppies for Sale

About Black & Sable German Shepherds Puppies

A Black and Sable German Shepherd puppy carries the sable coat pattern with heavy black tipping throughout. Where a standard sable has a mix of tan, brown, and black banding on each hair, a black sable shows predominantly dark coloring from the shoulders through the back, fading to lighter tones on the legs and underside. The result is a coat that reads almost black at a distance but reveals rich layering up close.

Black sable is one of the more visually striking expressions of the sable gene. It is fully recognized under the AKC breed standard. These dogs carry the same temperament, drive, and structure as any well-bred GSD. The color is in the coat only.

For more on what the sable pattern looks like and how it varies, see the Sable German Shepherd guide.

  • Step 2: Submit a Deposit: A deposit holds your puppy and removes them from the available list. Deposits are applied to the purchase price. We accept PayPal and major credit cards.
  • Step 3: Choose Pickup or Delivery: You can pick up your puppy in person at our facility in Ohio, or arrange delivery. We work with a trusted pet transport service for families who cannot travel. Details on the puppy travel page.
  • Step 4: Take Your Puppy Home: Puppies go home between 8 and 10 weeks of age. We send you home with documentation, feeding instructions, and a small bag of the food they are currently eating to ease the transition.
